Have a good transitioning day!
"Education is not about filling a bucket, but lighting a fire."
The Transition Plymouth Education Group is a friendly group exploring open approaches to the learning process about the Transition movement issues. We believe education is about personal & social transformation, therefore it should not be a 'one way' tool of information but a personal experience; it should be a process where individuals feel appreciated for who they are and encouraged to connect with one another while gaining new information that enables them to see things differently. It should help individuals to be more authentic, to feel happier and fulfilled, to be better human beings; it should engage with the needs of oneself and the world.
We explore transition issues like changes in the climate, the end of cheap oil and building community resilience in Plymouth, through games, workshops, open discussions and information events; we are always searching for new ways to learn together.
How to get involved?
As with the rest of Transition Plymouth groups, we are all volunteers. We meet regularly, take decisions by consensus and we welcome anyone who has some interest or experience in this important area of Transition to join in! You can participate in events we are already organizing and/or we would love to hear any ideas you might have about an educational project, game or workshop. Just get in touch!
